The Artwork: Time Rings

Time Rings is a contemporary studio print that takes the cross-section of a tree as its whole subject. Concentric growth rings circle outward from a dark central knot, each band recording a season of slow growth. The design invents no artist and no date; it draws on the long human habit of reading time in wood — the same rings that dendrochronology uses to date timber.

The image keeps the honest colours of cut wood: amber, russet and warm brown, with fine dark lines tracing every ring. Where the grain meets the knot it bends and tightens, giving the centre a quiet pull that holds the eye. The effect is graphic yet entirely natural.

Die vier Ecken (ursprüngliche Schnittkanten?) sind tatsächlich auf dem Druck. Stören jetzt nicht sehr, hatte ich allerdings nicht erwartet. Versand und Verpackung waren super!

The order went extremely smoothly. The package arrived very quickly. The poster was very well packaged in a thick cardboard cylinder, so I received it without any damage. I especially like that they made sure the packaging contained minimal plastic! The print is of excellent quality, with saturated colors. I received a truly beautiful print. I will definitely order again!

I really like the picure, the blacks are soo deep and the red is so vivid, the scene is just filled with life.
