The Artwork: Monochrome Matrix

Monochrome Matrix sits at the meeting point of geometric abstraction and gestural painting — a grid of black and white blocks held together by visible brushwork. The composition recalls the suprematist grids of the 1910s but loosens them with the painter's hand, somewhere between Malevich's structure and the loose touch of mid-century tachisme.

The technique is layered. Beneath the grid lies a brushed ground, and within each block the brush moves freely — vertical strokes, scratched edges, places where the white almost breaks into the black. The grid is fixed; the surface is not.

The print weights a wall without overwhelming it. It works above a sofa, behind a desk, or in a kitchen with concrete or warm wood surfaces. It sits cleanly with mid-century furniture and reads well at a larger scale.

Die vier Ecken (ursprüngliche Schnittkanten?) sind tatsächlich auf dem Druck. Stören jetzt nicht sehr, hatte ich allerdings nicht erwartet. Versand und Verpackung waren super!

The order went extremely smoothly. The package arrived very quickly. The poster was very well packaged in a thick cardboard cylinder, so I received it without any damage. I especially like that they made sure the packaging contained minimal plastic! The print is of excellent quality, with saturated colors. I received a truly beautiful print. I will definitely order again!

I really like the picure, the blacks are soo deep and the red is so vivid, the scene is just filled with life.
