The Artwork: Misty Mountain Veil

Misty Mountain Veil is a contemporary Japandi watercolour study. A mountain gorge stands at the centre of the image, and pale, flowing washes drift across its face like a hanging veil of mist. The composition sits closer to abstract pattern than to landscape painting, yet the eye still reads slope and depth.

The technique is flowing wet-in-wet watercolour. The mountain mass is laid in once in a slightly deeper tone; then a pale wash is drawn over the still-damp surface, so that a soft veil settles on the slope. The work is part chance, part decision — fully in keeping with the East Asian acceptance of chance as part of the brush.

In a living space it brings movement without noise. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and stairwells, and works especially well above a low piece of furniture, where its softer lower edge has room. It works with raw oak, neutral wool, ceramic and warm, low light.

Die vier Ecken (ursprüngliche Schnittkanten?) sind tatsächlich auf dem Druck. Stören jetzt nicht sehr, hatte ich allerdings nicht erwartet. Versand und Verpackung waren super!

The order went extremely smoothly. The package arrived very quickly. The poster was very well packaged in a thick cardboard cylinder, so I received it without any damage. I especially like that they made sure the packaging contained minimal plastic! The print is of excellent quality, with saturated colors. I received a truly beautiful print. I will definitely order again!

I really like the picure, the blacks are soo deep and the red is so vivid, the scene is just filled with life.
